saw something that looked like a black faced squirrel attack my chickens condo

Was sitting on my back porch at noon and noticed something bounding across my lawn that looked like a squirrel but it had a black face and upper body, the bottom half was dark brown and its tail was black/brown and bushy. it ran right up and through itself onto the chicken coop (hardware cloth) multiple times and my poor girls where freaking out and jumping/flying/squawking until my son chased it off. I can't figue out what it was and to attack in broad daylight was just odd. I like in georgetown texas and i don't see any black weasels faced weasel (it didn't have a light underbelly either) or minks that fit what i saw - though it couldnt really see its face because it was black. It didn't stink so it wasnt a skunk.
