I have had bad hatching luck this summer.(Except for duck eggs from Caleb's Acres, they always hatch!

) Anyway, one of the sets of eggs I got were Saxonys. I had upped the humidity and this afternoon though I heard something from the "duck" bator. There is a small pip in one of the Saxony eggs. I am SO hoping at least that one hatches!!!

Thank you!

Of the eggs I have bought recently, I was hoping for Saxony duckling(s) the most.

Well, even if I COULD post a pipping picture,(havent had any luck posting pics unless I e-mail them to another BYC member and have them post it)) I cant get a good one through the plastic at the top of the incubator. I have a big flashlight I use to look in there and see what is going on.
I keep hearing peeping when I look but so far no more progress. Of course the ducks I have had hatch seem to go at a slower pace than most chicks.

Darn! lol Oh well.

Mine were DAYS between the beginning of cheeping and the end of hatching. I think it was six days, as a matter of fact. And three days between the beginning of cheeping and the first hatch. So don't get antsy--just let them be and they'll come out in their own sweet time.

Okay, so back to the pictures--can you put the flashlight on the back part of the window, and get a picture through the front part? Come on, surely there's SOME way to do it!

At any rate, keep us updated!

Well, I was gone to the fair...and he/she is OUT. Going to wait a bit yet though before taking the duckling out of the incubator...maybe some noise will convince more to hatch....
