Above this 1 1/2 acre pond is my home. I can see the pond from my front porch. We keep a camper there in the summer because we spend more time at the pond than we do at our home.

What a wonderful journey it would be for those sweet little future ducklings to make their home in the mountains of southern West Virginia. I just mentioned to hubby today how much I'd like to add some ducks to our pond. We have a stone barn to the left of the pond with a fresh water stream that runs past it, that would make a wonderful home for the ducklings. They will also enjoy sunning themselves in the lush green fields. You could say that they would spend their lives in heaven, well almost heaven, West Virginia.

My 2 little girls, 7 & 3 yrs old, would really like to hatch those eggs. We've had a rough time lately. Thier daddy came home from Iraq in January after 15 months and had to leave again and for a long time. There's more to the story but I just can't say it here...a pm I could do, but not here. I hold on to my faith in my dear Savior, Jesus Christ. I've recognized that I am powerless and have had to humble myself and ask for help when I was determined to do it all on my own. I am not superwoman.

In the opposite end of the spectrum, I felt myself falling into such a deep dark pit of despair because of events that I remind myself that God knows when a sparrow falls in the forest, so how much greater am I? In being there....down in a lowly place I feel I have let my girls down. They need joy in their life. They need a reason to experiance the blessings of our Creator in Heaven and the love of his foot soldiers here on earth.

I'm trying day in and day out to show them there is hope despite our trials. I'm trying to grasp the opportunities that arise to show them His wonders.

I think they would have fun with ducks. They enjoy our chickens and I am given a certain peace in seeing the joy and laughter that they bring to us. We will be incubating the very week you speak of as a classroom project for my oldest daughter. I'd love to add your eggs to the mix. What a show that would be.

Thank you for your consideration and God bless.

Humbley submitted,
Gretchen, Zoe, and Ava

Okay, I've read everyone's posts and here's my try. I want those free eggs!!!

I want them not because I need them but just because I had so much FUN hatching out my last set of designer eggs. After they hatched, I went crazy trying to look through pictures of what the person had to see if any of my babies looked like any of them. They didn't because they are DESIGNER babies( I gave up after about 1 hour).

I just looove the mystery of it all. They are only 4 & 5 days old right now but I'm already anxious to see what they look like when they feather out!!!
