I have two hens with this scab on their feet. What is it? Their coop is being cleaned every 2nd day. I open the coop very early in the morning and they only sleep there. They are more than 2 years old.

It looks like scaly leg mites to me- kind of hard for me to see the pic.

What happens is that the scales start lifting as the mite burrows. Then they can end up losing a toe or foot from it. So what I like to do is dip each leg daily in mineral oil (or you can use veg oil) for at least 2 weeks to smother the mites. If you want to go the vet route ivermectin kills them too I have read.

If it is severe you might dip longer than 2 weeks to aid healing. Some use vaseline or bag balm but I didn't have as good results with that and it was harder to put on (probably why it didn't work as well for me since I didn't want to dally). The oil works well.

Looks like mites to me too. I would treat them, and the roost and the whole coop. Mites can live off the chicken and jump on at night. I would certainly be spraying their legs every day with some bug killer.

Yes! Seminolewind nailed it! I forgot to say that your should treat your coop with poultry dust or spray, and the chickens too! Repeat in 7 days (this is what I do to kill the hatching eggs - I always figure that if there are one kind of mite, there might be other kinds too, and this is prudent to do as Seminolewind said since the mites crawl around- they are like little spiders).
