Scabs on comb

My rooster has developed some weird scabs on his comb. I do not think they are from scratches, etc. Sometimes a hen will peck on it, but it does not seem to bother him. Anyone know what it is and what I can do to help? Antibiotic ointment?

i'm not sure. some of my roosters would get this and i see roos with this a lot.
i'm curious to see what people say

It could be from small peck wounds or insect bites. So far, it doesn’t look like fowl pox. In MS, that is a common reason for scabs from mosquitoes transmitting the pox virus.
