I wanted to share an idea I used for a scalder. I have turkeys, BB and Whites that we will be processing soon. They are hugh and I knew that no pot I had or could find was going to work for the scalding. Now what oh great turkey raiser? These birds are probably going to dress at 65lbs! I had an old washing machine that the transmission was gone in. Saved it for the sheet metal housing and the motor. Wait! The tub! Oh yes, had to cut the tub off the spindle but took it to a welding shop and had a new bottom put in and legs for stability. This was made to sit on top of a gas fired turkey fryer. Spigot on the side/bottom for drainage. I think it will handle these birds and then some.

What a brilliant idea!! I just love junk that other people scoff at, then be able to turn it into something useful! Where are the pics??

Lol, have to wait until tomorrow now. Haven't had a chance to take any. Still have to install the sillcock in the side but you'll still be able to see.
