Was checking out my chickens and noticed their legs might be looking weird? I can’t tell if this is within the normal range or scales leg mites. I don’t know where they would have gotten them as I raised them from chicks and have not introduced any new chickens. They are about 9 months old. There is definitely some mud crusted on there that I need to clean off but the scales appear slightly lifted in spots. What do you think? Thanks for any feedback, I just don’t want to treat if not necessary.

update: added some pics after I cleaned the mud off

Thanks, it’s so hard to tell because they do seem very slightly raised but if you google scaley leg mites you only see pictures of the really bad infestations. If this is the beginning I would like to nip it in the bud but I don’t want to scrub and rub oil all over chicken feet for no reason 😂
