I am interested in weighing my birds, but was wondering what type of scale do you get to weigh them. All the ones I looked at for weighing ounces look to small. Let me know what some of you use or prefer. Thanks

I wonder if a fish scale would work? They are inexpensive and easy to use. Or perhaps one of those small digital scales for kitchen use? If you put the bird in a small box/basket and on top of the scale.

I have several gram scales used to measure out glaze (pottery) ingredients in the studio. Cost about $150 new. http://www.axner.com/axner/equipment/scales.php Good to about +/- 0.5 g. If you aren't in a hurry, I picked all of mine up for less than $20 used (auctions, garage sales, etc.). I have also used a postal scale (oz.). Go check out office supply stores for postal scales, or a kitchen scale should work too. Remember a scale does not need to be accurate, just consistent, as long as you get the same number for a given weight every time you are golden. Just weigh a couple of known weights on it to let you know how off you are.
