Scaley leg mites?

I’m dealing with bugs on my chickens vents and now I’m worried about their legs. Please see pics I’m sorry if they are t great pics they aren’t easy to catch!

Yep, sure looks like few have SLM.
What bugs did you find on the vents?

Im not sure if its mites or lice. They are tiny and tan and i put permithian (sp) powder on them last night...Mostly on vents.

Sounds like lice, but.....
Do some googling to find pics of mites and lice and their eggs.
Permethrin dust should work but will need to be reapplied in about 7 days...and again if you still see live ones....look under their wings and around their necks too.
SLM can be treated with plain old vaseline, or about any ointment or oil, rubbed up under the raised scales.

It might if you get it up under the scales, the ointment or oil will suffocate the leg mites.

Permethrin is great for mites and lice and as others have said repeated weekly treatments are necessary for at least 3 weeks because it does not kill the pests eggs and as a bonus there is no egg withdrawal period. If your birds have mites or lice. I would thoroughly spray in their coop every crack and crevice on and under the roosts, everywhere. You can spray the birds too but if it's cold out maybe dust them. I also put some dust in the nest boxes. Also petroleum jelly works on scaly leg mites but must be reapplied daily. There are other products available for it too. Good luck...
