How do I know when the mites are dead & gone?

Just drown the little vamps in oil about every other week for a month and stop. Then take notice if the scales are looking better. All should be well. If the scales take a little longer, no big deal, they should rejuvinate in a short time. Be sure to oil the roost as the vamps hide in the cracks during the day.......Pop

I went and oiled the whole coop, that should be all set.

What about the yellowish crusty stuff on their feet? Like in this picture here that I found through Google. Should all that be gone too?
