This is all such great info although 6 years old. My 4 week old chick was scalped by a full grown hen. She is left blind in one eye. She is now 6 weeks old and thriving. I tried to introduce her for a few minutes with the other chicks and they pecked right away. I am concerned that she won't be socialized. I have been considering getting a couple of younger chicks to keep her company? so will skin grow back on the scalp? her feathers are already starting come back where some skin was left...
