scalped duckling :(

Can you bring Momma in too to be with her? That might help her heal faster as well.
Hmm, not really sure where I'd keep her... the tub I have the baby in isn't big enough, and the only bathtub I have right I need for myself, lol. She also was never very careful - she would step on the baby and stuff, which didn't hurt it (apparently) before, but with its head in the state it's in, I'd worry about a claw catching the wrong spot or something. :/

Baby is growing big-duck tail feathers now, still doing fine. The skin along the back of its head MIGHT be growing back a couple millimeters? Just spoke with the vet and they said keep doing what I'm doing, only thing she might potentially add would be a couple weeks of oral antibiotics, just in case.

So has anybody else noticed that the baby's mouth always looks like it's open? IMG_20180807_214710.jpg It almost looks like part of the end of its bill is missing, but it doesn't look accidental... like it became that shape on its own? It didn't really look like that before - this pic is just a couple days before the "incident". IMG_20180727_190157.jpg

It could be that the duck sustained damage to the jaw area too. As long as it can eat, and drink, it will be fine. Just keep an eye on it. You are doing everything correctly. Healing is one of the things in life that take time. It can't be rushed.

It does look different . Is the little one eating and drinking okay? If no infection so far I don’t know why you’d need any antibiotics. Jmt
