I had a quail have the same thing happen, only it was much worse, the vertebrae were even showing!!! I figured he was done in for, and asked my husband to put him out of his misery, but he got home late, and since I have put him in an isolation cage, sprayed his head and neck with cut heal, a liquid wound spray, and gave him chick starter and added vit/electrolytes and duramycin to his water, I figured he would either be gone by morning or better. He even had lost an eye, and I was so concerned he was suffering. By the am he was eating and drinking, and has totally recovered. I will never put him in with the others again, and he now has a big classy cage to himself, a reward for surviving!!! He still has no feathers to his head, and it was about 2 weeks ago, but he was what I would call "healed" in 3 days. Not sure if this is of any help. Good luck, he is a very nice looking bird. Oh, just noticed, yours is a hen. Not sure why that would happen, that kinda stuff only happens to my males when they fight when there are too many boys and not enough girls.
