Scaly Leg Mite

I Have been coating my pekin bantams legs in vegetable oil to try and cure scaly leg mite. The oil has transfered to the birds feathers, they are covered in soil from having dust baths. I bathed them in mild shampoo but they dont look any better, the feathers still have lots of soil stuck to them and I dont know how to attempt to clean the oil/soil off without causing them harm Any ideas?

I personally wouldn't be concerned about oil on the feathers if you have already tried bathing them. They will eventually wear it off.

Good for you for treating the mites!!! Keep at it for at least two weeks!!!
