Seeking info as to what's normal after treating scaly leg mites. I found early signs last month so did the oil dipping routine for 3 weeks every 2-3 days. A week later legs looked bad again so did the pricey PSP leg soak and cleaned the coop with it. It's supposed to kill mites and eggs within 48 hours. Today, five days later, 2 of my girls have bleeding cracks and a few leg scales that have come off.
They've also gone through severe cold temperatures for their first winter storm here in Texas, so wondering if they got some frostbite and maybe its not even the mites?
I don't know what to do for them now and am very confused about what's normal after treatment. But surely any bleeding isn't good? Cant find a vet who treats chickens. Any advice is much appreciated!
