Scaly leg mites and vaseline not working??

I usually give my birds a nice long bath to soften up their feet, then pick the raised scales right off their feet. They come off really easy once they are soft. Then a use a bit of vaseline every few days until the new scales grow in. Mineral oil works too, it takes a long time to notice a change when treating scaley leg mites because even if the mites are dead, the scale will still look raised and infected.

thank you all, this helps....i also plan on painting their nesting boxes and roosts area as i read that helps keep them under control. thank you again
