Scaly leg mites?

After comparing pictures from the internet to what my chickens’ legs look like, it seems to me like some of them have scaly like mites! I was thinking of treating them with white vinager and then putting Vaseline and a natural parasite spray on them. I would do this twice. I will also clean their coops. Will that be enough to get rid of the mites?

Yes that should be plenty. Do you use diatomaceous earth?

I have the same problem with an Easter Egger. I've been giving her warm baths from time to time and then when they're dry smearing DE all over her ankles and legs (in the affected area). I tried Vaseline for awhile but it didn't do much and just made her feathers dirty and waterproof. Hopefully you'll get better results though. If you do, I might have to try your method!

Sure thing! Another thing; check to make sure no varmits are getting in, they carry mites easily
