My hen Potato is acting off. She may be favouring the one leg just slightly. I noticed she her legs and feet looked weird, almost “crusty”.

She just had a warm bath and I took a baby toothbrush and gently cleaned her feet. This is an after bath photo.

Would you guys say this is scaly legs mites? And if so what’s the most effective way y’all know.
I’ve heard that the gasoline dip is effective and fast; but I worry about it a bit.
Please help <3

Yes, it's scaly leg mites. I use and would recommend a commercial mite/lice spray, and I sometimes sprinkle fresh-cut aromatic herbs such as catnip or lemon balm around the coop to keep mites at bay.

She’s now had another bath and I smothered her feet in Vaseline.
Looked a lot cleaner but showed me just how bad it was.

Tmr I go into town and I’ll get some diotematious earth. And maybe a good spray. I’m gonna scrub my coop and pact it with DTE. Cause this is bad.
Any other tips?

Make sure to change the bedding often so mites don't get a big population up in-between treatments. The damage done to her leg scales will take years to grow back out properly, but until then I hope she gets to feeling better.
