scaly mites causing weird scale? or something else?

hello. i would really appreciate your thoughts or advice.
i am pretty confident there’s scaly mite going on, but the weird yellowish scale only appeared the day after slathering the legs with vaseline.
is it a scale? is it something else?
saying i am new is an understatement so i don’t know what to expect.

also, i ordered battles scaly mite formula spray (i’m in ireland). i used the vaseline until it arrived, but now that it’s here, it says nothing about what is in it. it didn’t say online, but i thought it would say on the bottle. anyone have experience with this stuff? i’m thinking i should just stick with vaseline?

Other than that area, her toes look fine. You must be catching it very early!

I looked that stuff up and though we can't get it or if we could, I wouldn't use it personally, but saw it's getting great reviews.

Vaseline 3 x week, then repeat in 7-10 days will take care of it.

thank you for the reassurance! i was worried maybe she had an infection or something. her leg has been questionable for awhile. sometimes it would look normal and other times sort of fat, scaly and white. i don’t have a clue, so i thought at first it was just how she was standing on it. like if she put her weight on that side. but the other chicken started showing signs too, so i wanted to do something before it got worse.

last night, i did both again with the vaseline. i’m skeptical about the spray.
