Scared frist bloody egg"photos"

Perhaps there's more benefit to those suet blocks than I thought....

My Redstar occasionally has a twinge of blood, but never as much as yall's pictures show! I'd be scared if I got that too! But it's also just not quite as freaky on a brown egg I guess.

up date!! Well my little girl layed 3 bloody eggs in a row. I thought I need to help her so, I played doctor. I washed her bottom with warm water and put some anusol cream and vasilen on her vent, it was swallowen. No eggs from her in two days. She seems like she is low on get and go,but she is still eating and drinking water. Dose anyone have any ideals on what to do next?????I love this little girl and it would kill me if she died...

I am not sure about this but how much oyster shells are they eatting? maybe you could bring her in and seperate her for a bit...

no egg today,but no blood. she is staying in the coop, Eatting but not much. when I checked her vent this am and it looked like she was trying to poop.I'am thinking of bring her inside,but the other chickens are not bothering her, what to do????????

Oh, goodness...I hope she's not suffering a prolapse - search on here for that.

She may have matured too quickly and began laying too soon. This can cause many egg-laying issues.

I feed mine BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds) as a treat a few times a week; it's got good protein, and I've been told that somehow it "lubricates" the plumbing a bit. GOOD LUCK!

Great news! My girl is eating more and drinking more and I didn't see any blood today.... I hope she dosen't lay any eggs for a few more days so she can heal more!!

My silly pullets....

I know Oprah is laying, and now Camilla. They have nice pretty tiny lil pullet eggs. I collected them in the am, and went D'awwwwwwwww at them, and gave the girls a treat. I go out later and see Esther laid her egg. Ok, so thats 3... sweet! 1 full size and 2 pullet sized

Then I go out and see there is another egg in the box. A fullsize xlarge brown egg with blood streaks

Poor girl!! I don't know which laid it, but I am thinking either Beaker (BA) or Gloria/Peaches (BO) cos they are supposed to have brown eggs. I checked them all and everyone seems fine, so I guess they had to have a First Egg Contest.

And only one or two do the eggsong so I have no idea who did it lol It sure looked painful tho!! What a way to start your egglaying career!
