Scared!

My classroom is hatching chick eggs and we are on day 13. I went out tonight to candle them and the most active chick was not moving. I'm scared that its not going to make it!

Sometimes they get so big they fill the shell too much to move. More often, you just didn't catch him/her awake!

It's bit early to fill the shell, but don't worry, it will be fine! Happy Hatching vibes sent your way!

How often do you candle?

I'm with some of the pros on here. I'm going to candle on day 8 and perhaps day 18... that's it.

Even the most active ones need to rest. They will have spells when you don't see movement, that's just them resting and growing. I wish you luck and hope that it's just resting. Keep us posted.
