Is there anything I can use from home to get rid of a recent scar?

It was a huge cluster of cold sores, about the size of a dime? Which I never get, took like 2-3 weeks to heal, now leaving a red mark. It is on the outside of my mouth in the crease/corner of my lip but I can see it and it drives me crazy. I don't want it there forever.

It should fade with time...
The do sell scar "lotion" stuff though.... check Walmart...
Cold sores royally suck...

Yeah... Maderma is really great stuff. About $20.00 a tube though.

I once tried Palmers Shea Butter lotion for scars/stretch marks/dry skin.... it actually worked really well, only it took a little longer then the Maderma. The Shea Butter made the scar turn bright pink for hours after applying... and I finally had enough of just making it more apparent, so I stopped applying it.. and the next day with the pinkness faded I could see how much the scar had been minimized.. so I rushed to put more on

. I think it was $14 for a tube but I think it would be worth it.

Thank you for the ideas.

I got the stuff from walmart last year after a mole removal.Only about $10 if that and worked well. Keep out of the sun while using it.Extra vitC for tissue repair. Also a good calendula cream is healing.I would alternate and take the extra vits.

When out in the sun a high level sunscreen is also a good idea. "New" scars react to sunlight frequently causing permanent darkening.

Tea tree oil or mendalic acid serums are used a lot by people with scarring acne on said scars. Couple this with sun screen, as Sourland said, to prevent pigment changes. Mederma and similar products make me break out personally, but for some people it works well.
