I'd pat your horses. they look nice... much too large of course (I'd really really like tiny itty bitty horses), but they are pretty cute, and that GD of yours, super adorable!

Thank you! I am pretty fond of my GD....she LOVES helping me with the chickens, throwing a bit of scratch, trying to get them to eat out of her hand, and I let her gather eggs if there is any when I go out to check in the evening.

I love horses but as I am getting older, I hurt more LOL! But I will not stop loving and being around with horses, just a different goal now, no more green horses to be broke, riding endurances, has to be gaited or none at all, and gentle and not a highly exciteable horse. I know the risk is there but I'm more careful around my DD now going for riding lessons and she is totally unafraid of them. She just go right up to them (in your face kind of thing) that I had to keep reminding her not to be so overly exhurbent around horses and not going head to head on horses so fast that some horses would back up a bit to figure out what she will do. And teach her about horses and the signs they display particuarly if they got a bad day or just cranky.

I love draft horses, they are so calm and placid!

I have always been around horses and I know they can hurt me but yesterday's incident confirmed that. What made me mad is I gave the horse a chance to get out of my way and he knew I was there and then calculated that kick and I was not fast enough to get out of the way.

Here is another scary story, I have a twin sister, and when we were about 5 years old she was riding our pony and he took off. She fell off and hit her head on a cement pinic table and had to relearn how to walk and talk again. Granted this was before my mom had put us in helments. After she got out of the hospital she wanted to ride the same pony again and he took off again and my sister fell off again and broke her arm. My sister has a great attitude about life and she not let her disability get her down especially since when she was a sophmore in high school she started to have seizures from the head injury. But she is still around the horses but not as much as I am.
