Scary, scary have any of you heard ANY of this??

You must remember the general population just hears what the media and government wants you to. They say the government knows best. Simple things for simple minds. And about those black helicopters....

You, my friend, have nailed it down with a 2lb hammer. And right now it is the time to not just follow along.

I have WHAT in my yard? :

Their major downfall is the lack of food, but they do have the space to correct that if they desired to do so.

.

Huh, we've got food. Heck, there are Texans here who are paid not to grow food. Cow, chickens, goats, jackalopes, plus we have all kinds of crops.

Texas would be completely fine if there was a succession. However.. I don't think it's anything to worry about...

Me thinks thou art correct. I love the USA and dont want to part with it, however, should things get really stupid like they are kinda shaping up to do, I wouldnt take it off the table either. Heck, we could re-elect ole George

mom'sfolly :

Alaska would be fine, but Anchorage might not survive.

Texas has the food production, and is generally in the top 10 nationally in all catagories of food production. The big issue would be the water treaties along the Rio Grande and the allocations due the US and Mexico.

Water is the bigger issue than food. Without water there will be no crops. If it were to secede, I seriously doubt current water treaties would hold.

I agree that it will not happen. Most Americans would not want to give up their American status if they really thought about what it meant anyway. Social Security, legal rights, the ability to travel within the US, etc.

It would certainly disappear. If a state slaps the rest of the country in the face by seceding there is no way federal services like Social Security would be available to it. It would be a foreign country and treated as such. You could not just move to another state without going through the same thing all other immigrants do. There would be many repercussions.
