Preston followed their example, he had only run away a few weeks ago, but he still hadn't read this far in the curriculum. He skimmed through the pages, noting important dates and battles in the text.

Jamie glanced up as the bell rang and the teacher walked in. She closed her book and looked up at him as he started talking to the class. Oh great... a lecturer, she thought as she drummed her pencil on the back of her hand.

Ryan tried really hard to pay attention...he liked history....but this teacher? He was the type that could drone on and on about the most simple of facts, his voice the kind that is soft enought you want to fall asleep, but grating enough to make sure you don't.
He glanced over at Jamie, she looked like she wasn't appreciative of this fact either.

Mr. Goodman((Im just giving him a name, so I'm not like 'The teacher did this' and 'The teacher did that')) instructed the class to read lesson four and take Cornell notes on what they read. He stood at the front of the room quietly, glancing up to check for faces as he did roll. "Looks like we have some new students..." he muttered as he caught sight of Ryan, Preston, and Jamie.

Jamie sighed quietly as she carefully copied the format for the notes from the projector. Satisfied that she had done it correctly, she started reading lesson four, taking way too many notes than necessary.

((btw Cornell notes is basically a 'T' chart where the left side has key points, and the right side has concrete details that support the key points. I find them very annoying))
