"Cool." She murmured. "I'd take the pain any day, than having wings permanently. "Then maybe I could go back home." She winced. She hadn't meant for that to slip out."Oh no, believe me, you don't." Angelos turned so his back faced her. He gritted his teeth. His wings began to shrink and molt. The cuts reopened in his back. The now tiny, featherless wings retreated into his back. The wounds sealed, leaving the usual scars. He grabbed the small towel from his pocket and wiped away the blood. Angelos turned to face her, "See?" he said, panting slightly, "Not fun."
Logan walked nest to her, "I'm grabbing a midnight snack. Want to come?"
Logan grinned and led her to the kitchen.
"I know what the pain was like. It happened when I got my wings. It was pretty painful, but it was more painful to leave my family." She shrugged self consciously.Angelos almost laughed, "You don't know what the pain really is. I'm used to sucking it up." He smiled sadly when she said she'd like to go home, "I don't blame you. I'm never going back though. Not a friendly place."
