Hey so I'm asking this on behalf of a friend who just got some chicks from a feed store 2 weeks ago. 1 of the chicks, a buff orpington around 2 weeks old, is developing a serious scissor beak. Last week it was barely noticeable but this week it's blatantly obvious. Will this chick have to be culled or can it still lead a happy, healthy life free ranging with the other chickens? If it can be saved what accomodations would it need to thrive and at what point would one have to throw in the towel (assuming the condition continues to worsen)?
