My beautiful 7 week old lavender silkie chick has scissor beak. He is eating and growing just fine. Is there any way I can fix this? I was thinking of using the tiny elastics they have for braces. I don't know if he would scratch it off...and I need to make sure it isn't so tight he can't eat. What if I just did this at night?? And let him go w/out it during day?

Anyone ever figure a way to correct this?

Unfortunately this is usually a genetic trait, most common in silkies, Eggers, and Seramas. There are things you can do to help the bird out, such as filing down the beak, and giving food in a deep bowl. I'm going to send you a private message.
