Well poop, hubby and I made the mistake of weeding and feeding the yard this Spring with Scott’s Turfbuilder Plus. I just got off the phone with the company because I thought we might have made a biiiig mistake. Turns out, we did... The girls can’t go on the lawn for a whole year!!
Scott’s recommends against using its products with any grazing animals and might be interested in conducting a study of Turfbuilder effects on eggs. In the meantime, the girls are confined to barracks’s until we finish fencing the yard. And we will be tossing the eggs for the next few weeks.
Fortunately, they have plenty of acres of woods to scratch around in. And worms, frogs, and snakes to catch. But sheesh, don't make the same mistake we did! Next year, we'll fertilize with chicken poop and try to just ignore the weeds!
