The air cell looks fine, so probably not scrambled. They could have gotten too hot or cold in the incubator, gotten hot or cold while shipping, or they could be infertile.I'm on Day 11 and half of my shipped eggs look like this when candled. They traveled from Illinois to Texas. I broke one open... Any way to tell the difference between infertile or scrambled?

Thank you. I didn’t realize after incubating that there was no way to tell if the egg was fertile. The air cell looks fine, so probably not scrambled. They could have gotten too hot or cold in the incubator, gotten hot or cold while shipping, or they could be infertile.
There's a lot of variables with shipped eggs, and after they're incubated for a few days there's no way to tell if they were infertile or not.
No problem, sorry about your eggs. That's a long trip, lots of places something could go wrong. It's pretty good that half are even developing. A 50% hatch rate on shipped eggs seems to be typical.Thank you. I didn’t realize after incubating that there was no way to tell if the egg was fertile.I’m thankful some of the eggs seem okay. I won’t be ordering shipped eggs again anytime soon.
