I'm usually a curious person. I was thinking, "I wonder if I could scramble and egg inside a shell before I boil it." I don't like egg whites, love yolk (cholesterol laden as it is

). But I know a was giving all I got to trying to break that egg yolk inside the shell, to no avail. No matter how long or how hard I shook the egg, the yolk stood intact. I'm guessing I'd have to stick a pen in there to bust the yolk, then shake it. Just goes to show eggs are definately more durable than alot of people give them credit to being. Any suggestions???

There used to be an ad on television that sold an eggbeater in the shell.
You stuck the egg on a little pointy part and it beat up the egg.
I cant remeber how long ago that was, probably a couple decades, probably made by ronco, or some similar company

Maybe called the Ronco egg beater?
Anyway, maybe you can find the thing on Ebay

I checked ebay and got nothing but I searched on google and got alot of hits, saw it for 19.99 on one site, so its still available for sale

They showed one of those on some Food network show the other night. These two goofy people were showing all kind of gadgets, and whether or not they worked right. The girl kept having a fit with this thing. She couldn't get it to poke into the egg without breaking the egg. I would think it would be much faster and much less messy to just break the eggs into a bowl and make scrambled eggs.

I used to have one of those things and I thought it was a great idea, except the thing was a piece of junk. It failed to operate after the first few times, and I would take it apart and fiddle with it and then it would work again for a while. I wish they would make them again with better technology. The thing took just seconds to whisk the egg and it cut down on prep time and the number of items I would have to wash after preparing my morning eggies. I think I will contact the Ronco company and tell them to make them again.

My suggestion: if you actually need hard boiled eggs for some thing (egg salad?), get yourself one of those old fashions egg poaching pans.

Beat the white and the yolk together and fill the little individual pans, set them over the boiling water, put the lid on and cook until done. That will be about as close to a boiled egg as you can get.

Or, what the heck, hard boil your eggs and just feed the whites to the dog. If you have mixed the yolk and whites together, you won't get that velvety texture of hard boiled egg yolk.

I have the perfect way to scramble eggs in the shell.

Package them up and send them to another state using the post office....
