Scratch is fine, as long as it is not overdone. The same is true for bread. Bread is only milled and cooked scratch feed. If apple seeds were deadly then how did the free range chickens of the past ever get old enough to make a quiche?

Hello. Bread and certain things are not good. Treats in moderation because Chickens can suffer from fatty liver syndrome and shortens their lives.
I treat my Birds twice a week. Commercial feeds are all they require plus free range to keep them balanced..

I made cider every fall, and my flock gets all the left over squeezins...skins, cores, stems, and yes, seeds. We're talking by the bucketful. Never had an issue.
