So I bought this scratch and Peck feeds off their website thinking it's organic non-GMO looks high quality you should be good for my flock.

Not only was it more expensive on their website but you get about 15 pounds less then buying it from the store.

pretty much nobody is really touching it and I'm quite surprised. I tried it's fermented I tried it regular and they seem to have no interest in it.

Anybody else experienced this? Ultimately it doesn't matter how high quality your food is if no one's going to eat it..

I'm very disappointed to say the least !!

Buy some black sunflower seeds, lentils and/or cracked corn to dr it up.

Remember also that it could be bad .... maybe it’s best to buy new locally ?

Is it broadcasted or served in a dish?
Scratch is a "freewill" feed supplement. It has to be cast out in the run for them to discover while they are scavenging.
Scratch is not a meal. It's to put weight on meat birds before harvesting them.

Scratch and Peck is a brand/manufacturer name for a whole grain complete feed (they have grower, starter and layer as well as scratch, herbs and grubs for poultry + pig and goat feeds).

Here is the website:

I agree with KikisGirls that it is probably just that change is difficult for chickens. S&P is very expensive though - I feed it and like it quite a bit (my neighbors who have access to other free range chicken eggs say that the eggs from my chickens are vastly better) but acknowledge that the expense is a major factor. You also run the risk of birds picking and choosing their favorite bits - mine don't but it is a possibility.

Scratch and Peck does sell complete feeds too, not just scratch. ;)

I am not familiar with that being a brand name. The word SCRATCH implies to me that what is called scratch in my region.
Thank you for pointing that out.:hugs

As far as switching brands and types of foods, birds will go on strike. Meaning refusal at first until they are starved and most of all, interruption of egg-laying is going to happen.
I never switch anymore. Every time there is a sale or a coupon in the mail for a different brand, I ignore the temptation.
Advise is- pick a brand, stick with it. If you see a sale/deal of the century or even experience overwhelming temptation, stay on course with your feeding program and do not deviate off course.

Do what I do when the coupons come in the mail..

I was replying to kiki's post when she informed me already but thanks.

I am familiar with hundreds of brand names. :lau
Maybe not hundreds but a lot.

Did the OP check the mill date on the bag?
Buying feed to be shipped is extremely expensive. The 35 pound bag vs. a 50 pound bag is probably to make shipping cheaper.
We have feed shipped by the distributor occasionally but we have to buy 2000 pounds of feed at a minimum and there is still a shipping charge.
