Scratch Feed

How much scratch feed should you give about 15 hens each day. also do you put in feeder or just throw out in chicken area.

Scratch is like candy for chickens. It doesn't have the nutrients they need but they sure love it. Just give a couple handfuls. No need to put it in the feeder. Just throw it on the ground. It's entertainment for them as well as you!

I use it only for entertainment purposes, so handfuls are all that is needed.

What is scratch feed. All I give mine are layer pellets and scraps and when hubby mows lawn the clippings. If I'm gardening I throw the weeds in there to
