When can I start feeding my chicks scratch? Thanks!
I start at about two weeks but I never feed a lot, practically just introduce it two them.My bigger birds However get two scoops at night as dinner.
Make certain they have chick grit before giving anything other than chick feed.
Later is better, and after you have offered grit. I offer bits of plants first; clover, violets, grasses, dandelions, whatever is edible nearby. They find bugs too, and then when five weeks old, or so, and starting to range, anything found outside. Scratch is last.
is scratch put on the ground as its name implies?
I don’t buy scratch , I use their food as a treat . Two scoops is an awful lot unless you have 50 birds !!
