The problem with relating horse nutrition to chicken is that horses and cattle have systems that depend on fermentation for digestion and chickens do not. Their systems are so very different that you cannot take what's true for one and relate it to the other. Horses don't have crops and chickens don't have a pouch for internal fermentation.

Thanks for all the input. I worked on my Gma's farm 30 yrs ago when I was a kid. But so much has changed with Chickens and feed that its like starting from "scratch". Thanks
