Will that actually work? Also how do I do it, should I just keep selling the loud ones and buy another and hope it’s quiet?

There is no "quiet" chicken breed, it's more of a personality thing. I would have to say, however, that my quietest girls are the Orpingtons, Speckled Sussex, and Easter Eggers. The Wyandottes, Barred Rocks, and Delawares are the most talkative and loud!

My Orpingtons "sang" and it was LOUD! Never had Sussex but my (2) EEs didn't sing. I had 5 Wyandottes, no one sang but they sure got broody. No BR nor Delawares. I now have 2 WTB & 2 WTG, one WTB loves to sing & is noisy. Always scolding or squawking. It maybe a breed thing but for sure an individual thing. Good luck

Instead of culling the singers, why not resell if they're laying? Would help offset the replacements.

See, this shows that being talkative is not a breed thing, it's an individual thing. My Orpingtons NEVER sing, they don't talk at all. My Wyandottes think it's up to them to start all songs, and the Delawares are always talking about something. I have two broody girls, one EE and one Orpington. The EE will set, but will kill the chicks as soon as they hatch, but the Orpington is a great mother and has raised many broods for me! See, not a breed thing!!

Can you tell us why you have chickens? Are they for meat or eggs?
I'll ask again - why are you worried about any noise they make? Are you allowed to have chickens?

Hard to know if it would work by culling out the "louder ones" and replacing them. If they are a bother, then it may be best all around for you and for the health of the chickens (you don't want to keep getting new birds and risking introducing disease) to just re-home all of them.
I'm not trying to be smart or cruel. Sometimes a person needs to look at their situation and find a solution that works them and the animal(s) under their care.

You know I'm wondering what you mean by "weird scream". Chickens make noise, cackle and cluck, and sing the egg song, none of which I would characterize as a "scream". Here's one of my hens doing her egg song, are yours making this type of sound? Or what?

I don't consider this noise at all LOL Love it!

So I have about 15 chickens and a rooster .every morning After around 7am they decide to do some “egg Laying song” one time I found the one doing it so I sold her and now there are 2 more that are doing it. What am I doing wrong, should I keep selling and buying until I find a quiet one? What studying I

I don't mind my hen's making noise when they lay an egg. I'd scream too if I was their size and had to pop out something that size.

My loudest is my silkie, so bantams are not necessarily quieter. The others all sing while she literally screams. Quietness can be a breed trait, so go for breeds known to be less rowdy. PS they are at their noisiest when coming into lay and will mellow out over the next month or so. I'd wait it out to see if they settle down if you're not getting complaints.

Chickens can be noisy, definitely, and it is an individual thing, but before you go to culling/selling/re-homing....

Do you have enough nest boxes? Are they large enough? Private enough? Kept clean enough?

I find that noise dramatically increases when new pullets come into lay and begin challenging the nest boxes with the established girls. There is also territorial screaming.

While often ONE nest becomes the golden nest that ALL seem to want, providing some extra nest boxes and salting them with eggs can prove helpful in that situation.

Just a thought.

How big is your coop and run, in feet by feet?
Dimensions and pics would help here.
Why are your nests not clean?
Are they sleeping in them instead of on a roost?
Having a good environment might help with the noise,
but chickens are not quiet.......why do you want them to be?
