Screeching Chicken

My barred rock has been spreading her wings and screeching like an eagle. It's very scary and intimidating. I am in shock every time she does it. What's she doing?

Spreading wings or flapping wings? Are you sure she's a she? Cockerels will often flap their wings then crow.

If you are certain she's a hen, has she been spending a lot of time in the nest box? Could also be broody behavior.

burn right through you.
