these are 2 of my sculptures, the 1st is still in progress, the second and third pics are one and the same and already cast in bronze (tho i may rework them as I'm never happy) i am currently working on a third sculpture but i dont have any current pics

i sculpt in wax, the brown wax i used to make these two is called "victory brown" its basically a waste product that results from refining crude oil into fuel, its not crumbly like paraffin candle wax, but firm at room temp, hard when frozen and soft and slightly sticky when heated, its qualities make it very versatile and you can achieve extremely fine details with it, but its somewhat tricky and painstakingly slow to work with, but i really like wax, you can get away with not using an armature (inner supportive frame) unlike soft clay, so you can change things like legs at any time, also it doesn't dry out, i also just started to use a wax called castilene, its green, quite pricey, but much faster to work, and its much more supportive, it comes in soft,medium, and hard, i use citrus solvents to work both kinds of wax and regular metal sculpting tools as well as my trusty hairdryer and freezer to heat and cool my work, and when I'm finished if i have money, i take them to an art foundry to have a mold made and have them cast in bronze, but I'm going to try my hand at mold making to save some money (the mold for the finished one cost about $400 ouch!) and to have more control, i would also like to try to cast in artist resin but right now I'm just working too many hours

hi thats just beautiful, i do alittle sculpting with polymer clay i wished i had made molds of them like you. i did a lot of jackalopes some being goofy it was alot of time and fun i also did a fairy, mermaid. i go kinda in cycles and then i put it away and pick up something else

Here are a few of my sculptures. I use polymer clay, apoxy clay/sculpt, airdry clays.

I would love to sculpt a horse someday. They are my favorite.
