I have 12 new chicks that Mike got me for my birthday. Not very good pictures, but here are my new White Jersey Giant chicks (originating from Golda Miller stock). The guy they came from said he got his from Frank Reese. I didn't even know Frank had white Giants, though I know he sells JG meat on his website. I wonder at what age he butchers them (since they are such slow growers).

I had a 100 watt bulb for heat on them last night, as it got down in the 60s. (High today 79) This morning 4 of them had bloody oil glands from picking at each other. I cleaned them up, applied Neosporin and sprayed some aerosol liquid bandage. It just so happens it is a silver color and sorta blends in with their coloring. I hope this will deter any further picking. I also changed the light to a red one. I hope I don't have to separate them until they heal up.

Just be sure that liquid bandage doesn't have benzocaine or lidocaine in it, Kathy. Cute chicks!

Don't know about that issue, Kathy. I'm getting my notices, except when a BSA listing expires. I never get notified of that PM for some reason. It's weird.

Yeah I know, I'm "supposed" to be downsizing here myself. I just received a new young BBR game (Kelso) cockerel Fri. evening, yeah when the guy was walking up the drive-way with the coop in hand my Mother hollered out what ya got there Lowell, he said a rooster for Jeff, she said he's already got 300 hundred chickens, he said well here's # 301.

. I'm in deep doody

(literally, too) around here till I get rid of some of these critters. Oh well I can't help meself sometimes, ya know.
