I agree Gloria Jean - they all look so nice and healthy and pretty!

Oh my goodness - those lil tyrants - ahem bantam rocks - are already spoiled and demanding ll i need is for them to ring the bell like i am their waiter or concierge! Course i have yet to see them in their run after hours of blood sweat and tears _ LITERALLY! HA!

I have not heard from LH - i worry about her too - sounded last like perhaps she was spreading herself too thin?

How does one even get all those needles up amy? I mean you cant rake obviously!

Serrin,
I hate pine trees!!!!!

I love the needles. They make wonderful mulch and compost really fast too. Thanks to Kathy I have a NH roo and 2 hens. Also from her I have the three very beautiful BRs. Thanks to joletabey(Beth) I have some beauties of Orpingtons and a Delaware. . Oh the lavender orps , Ameracuana and olive egger is from Kathy. I started out with 34 chicks. I am down to 15. Three males and the rest left of the 15 are females. I have my 12 hens. YEH!! That is a perfect num.

Until, until................. next spring. I am blessed by all my friends from Byc. Next year I think I want some Wheaten Ameracuanas. They look sooo sweet. And some Buff orps too. I love the color.
Speckled hen, I have regrets. I should have snitched Gloria Jean from you along with the two Buff orps. I was just overwhelmed at the moment. I thought I would have to move to the coast. My Mom was having problems and I could not see moving anymore than I had. Things have however quieted off. Mom is fine for now.
I'm sure in the future things will again require action but hopefully she can live her life out in her home. She does not want to leave what she worked so hard to get. Its the only home she ever owned.
Hillbilly good luck with your chicks.

Gloria Jean, I am glad to see your pictures. You have the only babies from my sweetie Skoche and Imprimus, and I am SO glad they are doing well -

Knox, can't you just see those little cuties, sauntering out to the rope, trying to decide whether to ring for Fries, Scratch or Scrambled Eggs? I think Amy's idea is great, connect it on up. And that is the cutest little place you have there, worth the Blood in the Sand, eh? And speaking of sand, did you dig out, or put in on the grass? If you posted that, I can't remember. Old age, ya know?

Amy, pine needles? Worse than old wet straw. I do not envy you!

Laura, I guess I am the last, last, last to say Happy Birthday - sorry I missed it! And YAY for Shug- can't wait for pictures.

Kathy, thanks for posting that link, there are wonderful pictures on there, and glad one of yours made it, although your Avatar is still the best, in my mind.

Nella, DH finally brought the camera home last night, but I am stuck at work today, I looked them over and they are getting that fuzzy look at the base of the tale- new fluff or new feathers or something, and one has developed one really long tail feather- but I will show you anyway, as I can't keep them all.

I was given a black sexlink and a red sex link pullet as a thank you from the neighbor for letting my broodies hatch him some guineas. Lucy and Ethel. Pretty little girls. Will try to get pictures of them, too.

Yes, LH, how are you? Cynthia, Tim, Scott, hello - who else have I missed?

Has anyone heard from LadyHawk? Cyn? How about you?

Spoke to her this morning, in fact. She's really busy getting house ready for the appraisal and loan docs together among other things. She's still kicking! She should be here sometime the first couple weeks of October to pic up her Suedelettes.

Amy, when you have mountains of pine needles, dear, it's called pine straw. We used to build forts with it as kids!

All that is missing Beth - is the bell . They do this already. Like My del those lil girls are very dmeanding and spoiled. They are not afaraid of nothing - love the dogs - you name it - i fear one day they are going to start talking!

Cyn glad to hear LH is ok - you talk to her again - will you please let her know i was thinking of her?

Oh, they're talking to ya sweetheart! You just ain't been listening very closely!

Cyn,

Yeah, that's what the kids around here do as well. In the absence of hardwoods, one simply has to make do with what nature provides. PINE NEEDLES!

Beth, they're not so bad when they're dry. Though right now, I would very much welcome just a bit of rain. Enough to knock the dust down is all.

Well, here's hoping that all goes well with LH's home appraisal and all. I suppose the poor dear is having to do all of this under the watchful and irritating eye of her MIL? Poor kid! Give her a verbal hug for me, won't you Cyn? Let her know I'm thinking about her. As for me, back to the rock pile....or should that be Pine Needle Pile?!?!?
