Amy there is a Paint Silkie thread on here that has several pics. Im afraid to post any on here that arent mine. Paint and Splash are two different types. The paints remind you of a paint horse.

Oh and you should have a surprise of your own in a couple of days

Okay here are pics of the new kiddos....sorry for the gunk everywhere but baby 1 had a ball of yolk sac still attached when it came out of the egg and baby sorta dragged it around while it was absorbing and drying up.

Russian Orloffs 1 and 2, Not sure if they are mahogny or spangled I have to research baby pics of them.

Russian Orloff 3 taking a little break from its hard work

Baby 3 was a real surprise because when I was checking the eggs yesterday with 1 out and 1 pipped, this egg peeped at me. No signs of life in the others but this one peeped so I am tickled, now we see if it gets out on its own

The American Paint Silkies are like the white cow with black spots, each is individual and unique. They came about by accident and they do not breed true either. But they are gorgeous babies....here is a pic from three cedars silkies Paint on the right

Kathy, those BR's still look better than my BA's. I picked up the two older hens and feathers just literally fell off of them. Today I noticed that they don't have any feathers on their bums or backs.

Glad to see others having the same heavy molt - the runs look like major pillow fights- I have been raking feathers up and can't keep up with it. Poor naked butt girls, I feel bad. WHY do they molt just as the cold weather starts?

LH- hope baby # 3 makes it - congratulations on the two at least!

Beth the same thing here....it looks like I own exploding chickens when you walk in the coop. It would be a nightmare if I had not lost my girls in July, there would be feathers hanging in the trees! LOL

Baby 3 is here, I am going to move to the brooder and get them food and water before I leave for Cyn's then they shall be in the capable and spoiling hands of Cheyenne for 2 days so they should be rotten by then. Baby one was "crying" yesterday so she did her school work with baby tucked in her shirt. I went to check on them and the baby was gone I flipped out and Cheyenne says "calm down mom, I have it is in my shirt because it was crying". Baby was warm, content and napping peaefully in her shirt.
