I had mine cut at Walmart/Fantastic Sams. It was $15.50. There was a sign that you could have the whole shebang for $44, highlights, cut, etc. Yours is really cute, Laura! I was used to really long hair, but I needed some movement in it, not just stringy stuff hanging there. Can't wait to really fix mine up.



Oh, I am cautiously optimistic about my Ellie! She hasn't laid an egg in many months, had a bloaty abdomen, then was thin as a skeleton, then started molting. She lost her abdomen, but her comb was shrunken. I noticed about a week ago that her tail black has come back. Tonight, I realized that her comb is standing up taller, is pinker, and so I felt her keel bone. She has gained a few ounces, it seems. Could it be that her body is repairing itself and she'll start laying again like my Becca has?

I adore Ellie because she's friendly like most Delawares, but not a PITA about it like Georgie is. And she produces mostly pullets, unlike Georgie.

It was a lovely day here today! Got lots done outside. Mike raked and raked and raked, and burned leaves. Never done outside, ya know. I put plastic sheeting on a few small hardware cloth windows in coops. Getting ready for the freeze coming soon. I have 3 empty coops and plan to rearrange a few pens tomorrow to be totally set for winter. I bought some new nests at Crossroads. The vendor was packing up and I made an offer for all he had left and got them. What a great deal that was! I can't buy plywood and make them for that price! I wanna get them hung tomorrow, too.

Guess I am gonna have to wait until next week for my haircut. Gotta work outside while the weather permits and I have the day off. I'm like Beth, always keeping my hair long so it is easier to wad up on top of my head and not have to mess with it! I have cut it 3 or 4 times in my life, and always regretted it each time. Long hair is just simple to care for. Short hair, not so easy for me. However, I am, once again, going to give it a try! Maybe short, short, short would work best for me. I dunno..... Gonna try something though!

One possum just went to that Great Garbage Bag in the Sky. Tom was on his way out to the coops when he saw the garbage bag move. He took the flashlight, peered in, saw gray fur, went inside, got his pellet gun. Took two shots since we really couldn't see that well, but that was a HUGE possum. He will now be food for some other wild thing-Tom took the body over the power line easement and left it in the woods.

Ugh, why am I SO SICK?!? I started feeling sick last saturday and here we are a week later and I am sick as a DOG. My entire vacation! The only week long vacation I've taken in YEARS, and I spent the entire thing sick! Grrrrrrrr.....

Btw, I like the hairdo Cyn.......and goat kissing Knox. You all crack me up!

I should have gone today. I feel worse today than before! coughing and coughing and coughing....chest feels heavy. hope I don't have fricking pneumonia! Wouldn't that just be fabulous?

My friend is coming tomorrow to pick up 2 of the bunnies (the 2 babies I didnt bring) and she is pregnant and has 2 young boys, plus hubby is coming. I think i am going to wear a mask!
