Cyn, how's your head today? Are people starting to calm down and not harass you so much? Hope you're feeling better, sweetie.

Laura, please refresh my memory. Which one is Boo? She's the Del girl, isn't she?

Now maybe you understand why I said to be careful of what you wish for, huh?!?

Well, after a little forest fire this morning (so to speak), it's calmed down. There are glitches to be worked out, but thankfully, folks have clearer heads today, overall.

I don't have a headache today, so far, at least.

One feed store had Flock Raiser, both unmedicated pellets and medicated crumble, on sale, marked down from $16 to $11/bag! Got one of each. I hate Purina stuff because it smells so chemical-like, almost like alcohol mixed with molasses to me, but it could be they use that coating on the pellets, unlike the Tucker Milling layer I usually get. The Tucker Milling starter smells so much nicer than FlockRaiser or any Purina product. I hope it's okay, but both bags smelled like that, so it's probably its usual weird smell. I don't buy that due to the high price, but I have a situation where Tom thought FlockRaiser might be a good choice and we hit a big sale. I think the bags are getting older, is why the markdown, but should be fine.

I got lucky with feed this week. I have been wanting Kent High Flyer Breeder. (High Flyer is game bird feed) My Kent dealer said they couldn't get it unless they order 3 tons of it at a time. Well, I called the Kent company and was connected to the local company that makes it for my dealer. They happened to be loading the truck for my dealer at the time I called. He said he would go out and make me up a 1 ton order and include it on their truck. 40 bags WOO HOO ! ! I just went out to pick it up and they had messed up part of the batch, so I only got 24 bags. Oh well, at least I know that I can get it now. I have been using the High Flyer 22, and I do like that, but I wanted the incresed vitamins and minerals.

You and your flock have suffered enough in the past due to bad feed. That has always been one of my fears, ever since I first heard of such a thing from you. I'm constantly sniffing their feed for an "off" odor. Of course, being a smoker, my sniffer don't work s'good.

Kathy, I'm just curious: How much did that come out to $$ wise per bag, on a one ton order? Are they willing to do that for you whenever you need it? Hmmm.....isn't it always interesting to find out what is actually possible when you talk to the source, and not the middle man!?! Three tons, indeed!
