Yeah isnt that weird? I mean all the chickens eat the layer crumble and scratch and well treatsLOL . Its just sometihng in the del mixed with cochin they get these orange legs!

Ok sorry no clue how to put text with pics - but hey i got the pics posted! Yaya for me
Anyway these are some of my Del- Cochin crosses. The weird thing is if you see - their legs are not only yellow - they are really a deep orange - and they are all that way - isnt that odd?

Cochawares? Delachins? hahaha I love that dark yellow-orange color! Very nice!

I like Delachins the best.

I can just imagine the personality Ink. I love my cochins and adore Junebug the EE. I am calling her my social butterfly/politician she wanders around to. Everyone and looking them in the face like she is saying Hi I am Junebug how are you? Or Hi I am Junebug vote for me!

They are super nice - they forage like a Del - calm like a cochin - they are quite the little characters. That is why i am trying to keep them. the last two youngest ones really the only thing cochin looking about them is the slight feathers on their legs - body type and so forth are very Delaware.

Inkheart, I just have one question. Why?

Now Scott, I heard from Duane Urch and apparently they don't have Delawares.

I also heard from Chix but I'm not sure I like the type. Not that I'm an expert but compared to the pictures I have on my wall they don't look right. She does get more meat on the breast but I wonder how much to expect on a Dual Purpose bird.

So the search continues. ...............

Why? Why what?
I am not intentionally creating a new cross - i just have my chickens for eggs - a hobby and enjoyment - so if they go broody they sometimes have crossed chicks. I mostly have Cochins - i have no intentions of ever showing or anything - at least not with my large fowl birds
