I figured as much, but being new to chickens wasn't positive. I wasn't really serious anyway...don't think even a non-crowing roo would be worth getting from Georgia to Iowa!

That post was from August 2010 - I doubt Scott would still have him.

Did you know you can click on the green arrow of the quoted post and it will take you to that post?

Cyn - What do you think of my #1? I think #2 and #3 will catch up here very soon...

I think he's really nice-looking, Kathy. Of course, he has that 6th comb point, but it's a beautifully balanced comb, follows the head well. In that last pic, his tail carriage is a bit flat, but could be the way he's standing there because the previous picture was better in that regard. He still has some filling out to do, even now, but he has that rounded gravy bowl chest and a good presence. With the Stukels, by the time they are 11 months old to a year, you'll have your guy more of what the final product will be. He sure has Rex's eyes, doesn't he?

Haha, I didn't catch that it was Scott's post about the splash Rock rooster! Was somehow thinking it was Gloria Jean's!

Cetawin,
I have had one day like you have.!! First was the the Dr. visit, my glucose was 300. I am now on insulin. Plus a UTI. That was enough to have to contend with. My Hb called from the coast. The kitty down there that my hb and granddaughter loves deeply was very sick acting , barely walking. I told him to get that cat to a vet. The cat had been bitten by a very large poisious snake. He had two big rips on the area. They had to do surgery and remove part of the muscle in his back leg but they think he will make it. My hb was going to come to be with me for support right now. I told him to stay there. I was a nurse and can give my own insulin. Not to worry. Whew! He is exausted from the things going on. I worry about his heart right now too. He had a heart valve replace ment 6 yrs ago. It is 400 miles to the coast.
Think of me tonight. I hope all is going well with you and Speckledhen and Kathy. Gloria Jean

Good grief, Gloria Jean! Enough of that! I sure hope you are on the mend, lady!

Hope the cat has an uneventful recovery, too!

I'm fine! Biopsy was benign! I'm better than fine - I'm fantastic!

Lady you are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. Hang in there ... why did they go straight to insulin instead of sending you to a dietican? I got mine down and under control with a dietary change. Take care of yourself.

No just curious. They tend more and more to hand out insulin at the drop of a hat. Did that with my mother and her sugar went haywire so she tossed it and hubby and I wrote her a diet to use. And she has never taken it since. Mine has never been a problem since I changed my diet. Of course mine was gestational diabetes.

Yes I do question doctors don't I ? Of course my last two have tried to kill me so....

Has your package arrived yet? I hope it makes it for your birthday.
