When I get lonely I stand in front of a full length mirror and pretend I'm twins. Just don't do this in Macy's. They don't like it.

Scott,
We have an area light that gives them a faint amt of light here at night. I have ck'ed on them and they are on the roost. If I awaken them any earlier, I wake up the neighborhood here on the coast. Not a good idea, they have children that go to school. I have an ameracuana roo that has a scrill crow. It carries. LOL I like him though. He is a wheaten roo. I also have a wheaten hen. I can barely wait for Spring to breed him and her(they are from different flocks) also I have a FBCMs to breed him to for some olive eggs next yr. I will have the only migrating flock that I am aware of. The mtns for 7 months and the coast of NC for 4 or 5 months. It is hard on me and the flock but nec. at this time. How are your pretty rocks doing? I bet those boys of yours are growing up like weeds. Eating you out of house and home too. There is nothing that can eat like teenage boys. I raised my two so I know. Have a wonderful Christmas. Gloria Jean

Believe it or not I've nothing to say. Well ok, I'm just to tired to type much.

I'll be switching the BR's to 21% Agway egg producer pellets to so if I can jump start them into laying again. Though I think it may be a light issue. They've just come off a molt but should have started laying by now.

There was the upset with the BM's coming back and laying in their nest boxes due to the squirrel problem. Which I'm dealing with. I nailed a rat trap to the tree and have caught 3 little ones so far. There are more I have no doubt and will keep it baited for a while.

I have a Del hen who isn't walking right. She walks on her haunches. Don't know what's wrong. She eats and poops okay. Not laying of course but no sign of being eggbound. She's less than a year old and not one of my line. If she doesn't improve in a few days I'll have to put her down. I don't have time nor money to deal with an unproductive hen. Certainly can't breed her.

The weather here is cold and rainy and that just gets my arthritis going. DW is making cookies even though today is her birthday. We have plans to go see a play. White Christmas this evening.

Take care,

Rancher

Some of my birds............

I just noticed the big tire. What is it's purpose. There is one in the woods that I've been wondering what to do with. They have some at the school across the road but I'm not sure what they use them for. Some sort of athletic things I suppose.

Rain here and mud.

GD was out to see the chickens in her big pink fluffy coat. Scared the birds to bad they hid in the woods. I had a hard time getting them to come back to the yard.
