For that same reason [IMHO at least] Denny had to have all of his teeth pulled and dentures made a few years after he got through all of his chemotherapy to fight Hodgkin's Disease. It did something to the integrity of his tooth enamel and they just steadily declined after that. Took about ten years for it to get to the point of having to pull what was left, but it was the best decision he ever made. No more tooth pain.....EVER!!
If you have the dental insurance to cover it LH, I highly recommend going the full route. You'll be healthier for it and never have to face that kind of pain ever again.
Take it easy on those narcotics sweetie. They're a bee with an itch, if ya know what I mean.
Crazy day today, and I'm still trying to wind down from it all. Started at 5:00 AM with preparations to get Annie to her SAT's in Spokane on time. I can't just roll out of bed and go someplace! Oh heavens, NO! I need minimum of an hour to myself just to wake up!
And then there's the boys and the Pump House Princesses to deal with! They all had to go through their usual morning set up in the DARK! I don't think they were all that amused by the events, and let me know in it in so many words of little chicken curses uttered under their breath!
So, since we had to leave out of the house by no later than 6:30 AM to get her to her test location in time, that meant I had to rise and shine by 5:00.
After dropping her off to her SAT's, DH and I went to our favorite store, The Home Depot for some much needed building materials for both the house and the chickens. I'll be able to put the finishing touches on the boy's new quarters this week. Not a moment too soon either! Opening day of deer hunting season is this coming Saturday!
We just gotta get their covered run and coop done. I don't think I could handle having to go out every morning that early to tend to them. And, like I said, they weren't the least bit pleased at being awakened so early either! Poor babies! It was pitch black out there.
We ultimately had to stop at three different places just to get the pieces of tile that I need for the guest bathroom shower. I almost wonder if I would have been better off just trying to find them online. But, what I got will work perfectly in the tiled shower, and this way I don't have to wait for it.
On the way home from HD, we stopped and picked up three [18 ct] cases of Coors Banquet for a gentleman rancher we know out here. The three cases of beer are payment for the privilege of hunting his private range lands!
This guy has over 8,500 acres spread out over two counties out here. One of the bigger spreads to be sure. And it's all prime Elk and Deer habitat. I can't even begin to tell y'all how many times we've seen both on his place. And this year we have written permission to hunt it!!
The owner told us tonight when we dropped off the beer that we're only two of a total of about 35 hunters all told, for the entire autumn hunting season who have been granted access. Not everyone is hunting with the same weapon, so not everyone is going to be out there at the same time. Some are hunting the Archery season, some Black Powder, and we will be hunting Modern Firearm. All three are different seasons with different calendar dates. Therefore, we should be able to hunt all day, every day of our season, and never encounter another soul!!
I can hardly wait for opening day!! The hardest part is going to be to decide where to hunt first!
Needless to say, I never got the chance to call my next door neighbor, Robin, to see if she can come over and give me a hand with Evie
Evie's still hanging in there like the little trooper that she is, but I can tell that it's getting worse by the day. I've got to get it out tomorrow or I shall subject myself to 60 lashes! Shame on me! I'm a terrible chicken mama to let her suffer like this!
If push comes to shove, I'll wrap her up in a t-shirt and strap her down to the table with duct tape and just do it myself!
I just hope it doesn't come to that. I don't want to traumatize Evie any more than necessary. Great garden o' peas [as Tim would say] I'd give my eyeteeth for some kind of sedative for her.
OK, it's well past midnight, and I have to get up at 5:00 again tomorrow, trying to get myself used to this early to rise crap for hunting season. May you all have sweet dreams tonight and have a wonderful day tomorrow. Gee, with such an early start tomorrow, I should really be able to get stuff done!
