Maxie is one of my three Delawares, Scott, the one with almost no color. She may not live until morning.

This is Maxie. She has a very good comb and is so sweet.

Name them whatever you want....I generally name on personality and actions...my two dellies are named "Cannonball" because she shot out of the egg and into the opposite side of the bator when she hatched and it reminded me of someone being fired from a cannon. Fattie is the other one and she was the fattest chick in the brooder...bigger than my orps even...

What does your pullet look like? What is her personality like?

Poor Maxie Cyn...I get such a kick out of hearing her go into one of her screaming fits over the phone. I hope she passes quickly and does not linger poor dear.

Brandon, That is one cute chick you have there. Don't ya just love the lavender color?

Thanks Kathy
I love the Lavenders!

Bumblefoot round two. The bottom doesn't look bad and the other side healed up great. The most swollen spot? Still looks horrible.

This time i cut a big X on top of it, pulled the flaps apart and squeeed pus out, dug gunk out and flushed it out after wards. Then i packed it full of antibiotic ointment and bandaged it back up. It actually really grossed me out today....yuck.

It was full of blood, pus and some gunk.

I had to make a huge cut down the side and then another across the top......and then push up from the bottom as well. There seem to be big pockets of nastiness in there in multiple places. If this doesn't work, I will have to open up the top AND the bottom and connect the two I think. There was no "hole" on top on that side, so it may be nastiness and infection from the bottom area. Which would leave me to believe I would need to get it all out of the top and the bottom......to make sure there is nothing left inbetween.

Yuck. Poor hen. She was very cooperative this time but I can tell when I am really hurting her
