My biggest problem is the blood (so much blood!) and not really knowing what I'm doing. What if I'm cutting too deep? What if she is bleeding too much? I would feel much more comfortable if I had someone to show me the "correct" way the first time.

I made huge cuts this last time. I wonder how they will heal up. When I did the bottom it was more or less cutting the scab out and digging around in the hole. Because the top fo her foot was so bad, I did a long cut both up and down and side to side that way I could peel the flaps up and have a large opening. But there was a LOT of blood. And pus and crud.

I may have to go ahead and just lop her foot off and give her a peg leg.

Would that make her a Pegleg Princess in a Pump House? I love alliteration!

Amy, I don't drink, but I would have to have a drink to do what you all have done - whew!

Kathy, is the leg band on Alexander something that I need to keep on him? I don't need it for ID unless it has something to do with your tests.

Name them whatever you want....I generally name on personality and actions...my two dellies are named "Cannonball" because she shot out of the egg and into the opposite side of the bator when she hatched and it reminded me of someone being fired from a cannon. Fattie is the other one and she was the fattest chick in the brooder...bigger than my orps even...

What does your pullet look like? What is her personality like?

Poor Maxie Cyn...I get such a kick out of hearing her go into one of her screaming fits over the phone. I hope she passes quickly and does not linger poor dear.

I actually don't have her yet.

We call her, "Floozy." She seems to think she has to be out socializing with the others, instead of staying with her own kind. Or, maybe she thinks, "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence?"

Every day she does this....

She is a floozy, that girl ! If I get eggs out to anyone, they have to know ..... I have a floozy, so IF you get a funny lookin' Delaware (not a little yellow chick) ..... well, it is HER fault!
